I am a newlywed on a budget, just trying to make healthy and inexpensive meals for my husband and I to enjoy. He eats a lot, so cost is a big factor. Though I work 3 jobs, I manage to find time 6 nights a week to cook a full dinner for us both. I am constantly looking for new recipes that are moderately healthy, taste great, and won't break the bank.On the side, I also own a brownie business called Gersheybars. My passion and love for cooking started when I was just a small child, baking with my mom and grandmother. The brownie recipe has been passed down through 5 generations and I am thrilled to finally have an outlet to share them with everybody else. Friends and family have helped spread the word and made my business as successful as it is today.
White Chocolate Blondies
I'm not normally a fan of white chocolate, but I have a lot of customers (from my brownie business) who request them for non-chocolate lovers. They're soft and slightly chewy and just a bit sweet. For someone who doesn't love white chocolate, I have to say these are damn tasty!
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (12 ounce) package NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 15x10-inch jelly-roll pan.
2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. Beat sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl until creamy.
3. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels. Spread into prepared pan.
4. Bale for 20 to 25 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.

I made blondies for the first time a few weeks ago and oh my goodness I had to step away from the pan. They're dangerous! :)
